My city is in the throes of Fiesta, a ten-day party to celebrate the independence Texas won to become its own republic. Tradition is to wear wild clothing and hats during this time. As we were leaving for one of the biggest parties last evening, my daughters jokingly put a wreath of paper flowers and ribbons designed to be worn by women on my son's head. I laughed and said in my deepest, macho voice that it took a real man who was secure in his masculinity to wear something that "girlie."
My son responded, "So YOU are going to wear one?"
(sigh)
OK, I got myself into this one.
