Pancakes or Waffles . . .
« on: March 28, 2015, 01:05:26 PM »
Hello fellow chrome domes:  Hope all is well with you and your families.  Just thought it would be fun to discuss this subject.  I'll start.  First of all . . . I love me some pancakes and waffles.  However, if I had to pick one, it would be waffles. :)

So . . . how 'bout you?  Pancakes?  Waffles?  What's your story?

Waffles (all-grain). I prefer waffles, but I'll eat a pancake occasionally.

I've never had waffles, but I have a good recipe for savoury pancakes , which you can top with anything, including bacon, tomato and cheese

I prefer pancakes, mainly because I've rarely had waffles.

If I am cooking and want to impress, waffles. But they are a lot of work. Especially if you use whipped egg whites to lighten up the waffles.  Certainly creative shapes with various waffle irons.

If you want something quick, pancakes.

Definitely I like a Belgium waffle over pancakes by far. I do enjoy both but waffles are my first choice.

It depends on the mood I'm in.

But my real favorite is French Toast.

Waffles. But I'll eat pancakes as well.

Oh goodness.  You have git one of my weaknesses.  But please, don't make me chose between the two - it is too cruel.  It is a Solomonic choice!

Neither. I'll opt for bacon, eggs, sausages, and potatoes.

Waffles are a pain in the ass to make, so I go with pancakes, for which I have an awesome recipe.

If someone else is cooking, I may go with waffles if they're good and crispy.

Frozen waffles are an abomination.

Yes I like them good and crispy. Nice and brown.

Chocolate chip waffles made from scratch!  Or some good Chicken and Waffles.

Though, I also make an awesome pancake which I place the butter in the bottom of the frying pan and then "fry" the pancake in the butter.  It basically creates a crispy, buttery edge around the pancake.
