« on: February 03, 2015, 05:05:12 AM »

I shaved!

Tried to go fully sly but I used a double edged safety and after the 4th pass I was getting irritated so I quit.

BTW no one told me how bloody cold it would be! I need go winter hat shopping

It looks great. And yes, a hat is definitely required in winter! Sunday I was hiking, working up a sweat. Removing the hat and feeling the cold air on my head was a wonderful sensation. You wouldn't get that with hair.

Thanks man!
So do you think I should continue trying to shave with a DE or just switch to a cartridge while my head gets used to shaving?

I'm laughing out loud here because the day after I shaved for the first time I had been talking with my boss for 20 minutes when he said "You look different; did you get new glasses?"

Congrats on your shave; looks good.

I tried shaving with a DE yesterday for the first time (day 6 of 30 day rule) and I'm going back to a cartridge for a bit. I think my head needs more time to adapt to being shaved daily.

You can stick with the DE but you do have to shave in slow short strokes to keep from getting irritated and from cutting yourself.  That means the shave can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes.  If time is your enemy, then a cartridge razor, I use the Fusion ProGlide, will allow you to shave quicker and still be smooth.

Either using the DE or a cartridge, it will take you some time for you to learn your head.  I suggest you complete your first 30 days with a cratriidge.  Once you learn you trouble spots with the cartridge, it will be easier to switch to the DE and hopefully less blood required.

After three years of Headblade shaving, I'm trying out the DE, too.

Today was the first time I felt that I got a good close shave (on top), did not shave the sided and back today.  While learning, I've been starting with the DE, then finish up with the cartridge for the smooth feel that I like.

I saw they eye doctor today for annual check up.  Don't really need new glasses, but I do have some fractures in the corners of my lenses. minor Rx change.  So I can re-order whenever I want.  www.zennioptical.com is my favorite place for glasses.

...I cut the living hell out of myself haha. It glided over most of my scalp just fine...till I got close to my raised scars. Glad I bought a steric stick, bee bald heal and witch hazel haha.

The scalp has a phenomenal blood supply so those cuts will heal very quickly.  You won't look like a refugee from a firefight for more that a day or two!
