Being a bald Asian-American

Hey guys, just new here.
I'm 22 years old from California. I recently just shave my head when my depression and anxiety led me to a psychiatric ward in having suicidal thoughts. Just made some wrong decision and tried the isolation path for 5 years. I always had this misconception that being a bald Asian-American I wouldn't be accepted in bald culture because they expect you to look like Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, etc. But after experiencing that ordeal I was able to do some self reflection and realized how blessed I was. I won't go in full detail and bore you guys but I'm happy to be alive!

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, but it sounds like you're in a better place now. And, hey, you look great bald. Can't relate to being bald and Asian, but I am bald in Asia, hehe. And we've got all sorts of people from all over the place on here.

Been through a similar ordeal as a young man. Only later did I learn that this experience was part of the journey that made me what I am. I wouldn't have the life I have today if I had not been forced to make a clear and conscious choice of whether I wanted to live or whether I wanted to die.
I chose life; and that set me on the path to raking every action and going to whatever lengths required to have a rich and full life. The day will come when you no longer regret your past or wish to shut the door upon it - it will become part of you, part of what you will learn to love, and part of what makes you a good and loveable man.
BTW: You totally ROCK the sly look! Have FUN with it! Flaunt your manly self!

Welcome to the group bro! Thanks for sharing your story; good to hear you're in a better place.
I'm Filipino and bald and I totally enjoy it and have gotten many compliments from it. Looks like it suits you too.
Stay strong bro!

Based on your avatar the look suits you more than fine mate. I'm a newbie here as well who has also had problems with depression - although mine wasn't related with hair-loss - and I too went sly really early in life. I feel like we have a lot in common.

When I was a senior in hugh school many mamy years ago sat near in one class a Chinese/American who had a a very close nearly shaved haircut, I came to admire that - he was also a popular guy, This led me to keep a short buzz when i went to college and kept short since, as short as a barber would cut it, Finally in 1980 I shaved my head and kept it that way for several years. This actually increased my self confidence - the courage to be different which it was then,
