Hello Gents (and ladies)
Just wanted to say first up how much this site has helped me. I really can't stress that enough.
It was a huge relief to know that most of what I've been going through in my mind is pretty much par for the course in many of your own experiences.
The advice that has really helped was about letting go of my ' 'youth' and just accepting the more mature me. There is a lot of life to live and I'll spend more of it bald than with hair. Also loved the advice about controlling the things I can control - whatever they may be.
So I have been buzzing shorter and shorter over this past few months.
I've got pretty light hair as it has been thinning since I was about 24 - I'm now 30.
I'm going to spend the next couple of weekends getting some sun on my head and then go down to no guard (using Wahl balding clippers).
Here's some pics:

Still getting used to my head shape but as you guys say, that takes time but it does happen.
Will update when done. In the meantime thanks again to everyone on here.

You look very good with short hair, and, as you go shorter, I think it will look even better! Welcome, and enjoy the ride.

I did the same as you are proposing, except I'm BBC. The shorter I went, the better I liked it. Been shaving bald for almost 3 years now. I don't know that I would say that I wished that I had done it sooner. Being BBC, I was not really thinking of shaving my head. But since a few friends encouraged me to give it a try, I've found it a keeper.
You'll look sharp when you get the razor out and shave your head. Enjoy it.
Looks good.

Hi!
Going by your pics, you have a great head shape for a shaved head. I think that becoming bald will be a great choice for you. I also think that you will suit a beard with a shaved head.
When I first had my head shaved i wasn't really thinning out or anything. I had fairly thick hair, but kept getting shorter & shorter haircuts until at my barber's suggestion one summer, I got my head shaved. I haven't really gone back to having hair & don't regret the decision to be BBC (Bald-By-Choice). Enjoy the journey to becoming a cool, bald guy.

Welcome aboard! The buzz doesn't look too bad, but sly would look (and probably feel) good on you. I think the beard coverage looks good myself, no need to apologize for it.

Welcome to SBGs. Your head seems to be the perfect shape and the buzz looks great. Fully shaved would look great, too. Oh, you never have to let go of your youth, by the way. Bald doesn't mean old, neither does mature! Easy to tell from those pictures you are a young guy, no matter how much hair you have.
Glad you're here with us!

I would try the fully shaved look, once you take that step there is no going back to hair.

BTW, good choice on the kitchen mixer in the background. Kitchen aide is the way to go. I've worn out he and now on my second. Bake bread all the time and this is a good work horse.

Yes, SOS, your hair is quite light and thin. Once you get some color and shave it. I think you will look much better. The beard will just finish off the look. I'll bet you will be another one wondering why you waited so long to go sly!

Two new Aussies in two days! Welcome from another one. Take care out there in the sun but a bit of colour - early morning tanning is best - will prepare your dome for its first shaving. And the beard will complement the look.

Love the Kitchen Aid!
And thanks all. Glad to be part of the SBG community. I'll spread the word to more Aussies and will post back when smooth!

Have the same one in white - and yes, it's quite a workhorse! Oh ... and welcome to the SBG Community
