Hello baldies! I hope you can answer some of my questions. Apologies if I made any mistakes in this post, English is not my native language.
I've always had a nice bunch of black hairs. Around the age of 18 I started to 2 gray spots. They aren't very big so I've managed to hide them with quite some work.
About half a year ago I started to suspect my hairline was receding. At first I thought it was because of the gel (I use gel all the time). But earlier this week my barber told me my hair really was thinning. When I looked in the mirror later that night, I even noticed some thin spots on the top of my head

Again, this could be due though the gel I use, but I'm afraid I'm just getting bald really fast.
Now, I've always said that I would shave my head completely if I went bald. I know people who comb it over etc. and that's just hideous. At my current state I won't shave it just yet, I will if it starts to get really bad and when I'll get comments about it.
Now, I want to be prepared, even if its months away. I have some questions for you guys:
1) I am really, really pale. I often got remarks if I were sick and got bullied for it in high school. I use a subtle self tanning bodylotion that takes extreme paleness out. (I'd probably prefer going bald over going sickly pale again).
Going bald might soften my pale look as my black hair won't contrast my white skin. But I'll probably continue to use my tanning lotion (plus I don't want to be made fun of for looking like a chemo patient). If I go bald, I'll have to use the lotion on my head as well. Do any of you have any experience with applying self tanner on your head? Does it even work if you have to shave every 2-3 days?
(Oh, and tan beds aren't an option, a family friend who often used them died of melanoma and this scared the sh*t out of me!)
2) I'm also considering cutting my hair really short, like 1mm. I'd prefer this over going bald, plus this way I won't have to put tanning lotion on my head.
but I wonder if my gray spots will stand out this way (and I can't mask them with short hair). Any experience here?
3) Is it necessary to have a more muscular body when going bald at a young age? A lot of bald people are seen as attractive by women, but they are also muscular and they don't have a pale look. I guess it's less of an issue when you grow older. What's your take on this?
Anyways, thanks for answering my questions!
