Long time lurker, first time poster
« on: December 22, 2014, 09:53:12 PM »
Hi I'm Justin and I've been lurking on and off for about 6 or so months now and decided to join up and maybe contribute to the community.

I've been clipping my hair with a Wahl chromepro for about 3 years now and have decided (with the affirmation of my fiancée) to shave it smooth and get rid of the "halo."  LOL

I have a DE razor that I use on my face/neck and read on here that they are popular to shave heads with. I'm pretty decent with it on my face but don't know if I could do it on my head (yet) , so I picked up a headblade tonight to cut my teeth on shaving my head. I had some learning pains with the DE on my face, and I'd rather not relive the nicks and cuts again on my head.

I'm excited to get more involved on here and hopefully be able to contribute as much as I've learned.

I'll post my maiden voyage soon. Hopefully it's not too painful!

Hey Dallas:  Welcome Aboard.

You probably already know, but this is a really great group of guys.  It is really a blessing to have a group of men that you can discuss things with and who will tell you the truth.

Personally , I use a cartridge razor like a Mach III or something of that type.  I tried the original Headblade when it first came out but I cut myself up with it, (but then I am a world class Klutz).  Let us know how it went for you and post a photo.

Welcome aboard! If you're skilled with using a DE on your face, it's a pretty quick learning curve moving to your head. Give it a try.

Well I finally busted out the ATX and made an attempt to shave and it turned pretty good. I need to get the hang of it. I used the ATX and got about 85% of my head with that, then followed up with a Mach 3. I'm liking it so far. 29 days to go!

Congratulations Justin,  on your first headshave! I shave with a DE razor and love it. The only time I cut myself was going too fast. Use short strokes. How does your fiance like it?
Bald by choice, and loving it!

She says it looks much better. I would have to agree.

I went with the grain all around to allow my head to get used to having a blade dragged across it. Maybe in a couple days I'll go against the grain too all over.
