Head shaving advice - time for a change

• I have been shaving my head now for 10 years. My routine might not be the best. I shower, shave with my 13,000 rpm Panasonic electric shaver, USD my Mach 3 Turbo razor with Aveeno shaving cream and then Aveeno after shave lotion.
  
  My issue is that I normally do not have time to shave with a safety or double edge razor, but maybe there's something new that I can try?  My 2nd issue is shat type of shaving cream or oil should I be using?  My skin is very sensitive so I am afraid of using baby oil since I may break out. Anything with alcohol in it makes me break out as well.
  
  My 3rd concern is my shiny head. what product is out there for people will bald heads to eliminate the shine on their heads?

• The Headblade is a favorite of mine. Fast. Easy to learn.  I prefer the Sport version (only available online) over the newer ATX. The Sport gives a closer shave.  Warhawk tells me that the double edge gives an even closer shave. I've not tried this yet.
  
  I use Headblade Slick.  I usually include 3-5 drops of Shave Secret oil from Walmart.
  
  For shiny head ... Headblade has their HeadLube Matte.  I have some. did not think that it makes that much difference. But then I really like a shiny head.  Being BBC, though, I double I'll ever get as shiny as some of the guys on here who are BBN. That shadow of the hair follicles just seems to cut the shine.  Perhaps some baby powder patted on might help.

• Welcome to the sly fraternity.  Glad that you joined us.  Post up an INTRO in the INTRODUCTION Section of the Forum so we can give you a proper welcome.  MrZed gave you some great advice.  May I that you should always find time for yourself and try using a DE or SE razor.  IMO... all face and head shavers should try it at least once.

• Has anyone tried the Braun electric shavers?  I am thinking of getting the 720s-4. Currently I use a Panasonic ES8103s.

• I have a very similar routine, with the exception of the electric shaver.  I shave in the shower using a Fusion ProGlide.  I also use the Aveeno shave cream.  However, be careful which Aveeno you use, they have three of them.  You should use Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel.  That's the one with the light blue cap.  Sometimes this is found in the women's shaving product instead of the men's.  Add a few drops of Shave Secret shaving oil and you'll get a slick smooth shave.
  
  I also apply the Aveeno After Shave Lotion and it does feel good on the head.  In the beginning I was a little self conscious of the shine, but I got over it.  I don't mind the slick shiny head.

  I have to use an electric shaver. Stubble gets too high over 2 days.

  Why don't you use HeadBlade products by the way like their HeadSlick etc..

• I've been an Aveeno and ProGlide user for as long as I can remember when I shaved my face.  Always gave me a good smooth shave so I figured it would translate well on my head too.  Truth be told, when I started shaving my head myself I started off with a Mach 3 based on the recommendation of the barber that did the first shave, with a straight razor.  Other friends recommended the Mach 3 as well so I went with that.  Once day I accidentally shaved my head with my ProGlide and found that it gave me a smoother shave then the Mach 3 and I've used it ever since.
  
  I'm a creature of habit, I tend to stick with what's working.

• I could never use oil, I always break out. Try to use s glycerin based shaving soap in Commination with the shaving cream of your choice.

  If you shave ATG the shine will become more.
  
  Make sure you was your head after shaving with some oil free mild cleanser, like cetaphil and use a little oil free lotion, I use cetaphil lotion as well

• My routine is quite similar to yours with a few variances.
  
  While showering, I use the BeeBald Brand Scrub and Cleaner to exfoliate.
  
  Once I have showered and dried off, I coat my head with whichever shave cream I am going to use that day. I prefer Cremo Cream as it is very good for sensitive skin.
  
  I have never used a safety/double edge razor myself but I plan to try one soon... Most days I use either a Harry's Truman or a Dorco Pace 6. The type of razor you choose really depends on your skin sensitivity and how many blades you prefer. Try a few different ones to see which leaves you smoothest without irritation.
  
  After I shave I prefer to use Dome Care Solutions Hydrating Splash followed by their anti aging product which comes in either shiny or matte depending on the amount of shine you wish to show off.
  
  It generally takes me about 10 minutes after the shower to shave my head and face including the post shave lotions etc...
