Electric razor V. regular razor

Been shavin about 2 months now.  Question is; is it safe to use an electric razor on those days when time is a factor?

Welcome DptyDawg!!!!

I haven't used an electric razor on my whole head (yet).  I do use one to trim around my ears and side burns.  Just can't seem to get those areas smooth enough with a normal razor.

Welcome there DptyDawg, glad to have you with us.   I have used an electric when I first started shaving and got a lot of nick and cuts.  I still may use one occassionally when I have a break out or bump, but they just don't get me close enough.  In an emergency, an electric still better than hair though!!!

Hey Dawg, welcome to Sly Bald Guys! It's safe to use one on those days where time is an issue.  I actually do that about once every couple of months when I'm in a real hurry.

ddawg.....1st of all welcome 2 the sly fraternity.  glad that ya found us.  i used an electric razor during the 1st 2 weeks of being sly until i discovered the razor.  so... far.... i haven't used the electric razor since i started with the manual.  my wife shaves my head with the fusion (manual) &  make it a point 2 have "time" 2 shave.  i guess if time is limited.... that i would consider the electric.

Welcome dawg,  I used to be an electric user (face only) before going SLY.  I've occasionally used the electric for a quick touch up. Don't think I would like if for a full head shave.

welcome dawg. well i never used a electric razor before, but i have used a beard and mustache trimmer before, it gets it pretty close, then i use a safety razor, but i suppose a electric razor would work, when time is a issue for you, and again welcome.

it's always safe to use an electric razor. The question is whether they work well for you.  I own both rotary and straight head razors and neither get me really slick.  They work ok for touch-ups.  I use them occasionally on long car trips.  I certainly look slick after using them however, my head feels like 500 grit sandpaper.  I have fellow bald buddies tha swear by them however. Me?  I remain a blade man.

Welcome dawg!  I've personally never used an electric on the dome, but in my experience, since they tear up my face/neck, I wouldn't use it to do my head, but try it out and let us know how you liked/disliked it.

As for your question, I have rarely used an electric as I cannot get the slick smooth feeling that the razor gets you.

Dpty, welcome to SBG's, lots of great folks here and lots of encouragement.

I don't think you can get as close a shave with an electric over a blade.
Maybe if you have very fine, sparse hair you might.
I agree with JDog, nothing beats a blade for me; on head or face.

Never used an electric razor on my head before, but I will tell you from my early experience when I 1st started........... NEVER USE NAIR!!!!!!!
