Good battery-powered shaver/balder for traveling?
« on: November 06, 2014, 01:15:11 PM »
Hi all,

I'm hoping for a recommendation as to a good battery-powered shaver/balder... if there is one! I currently use a Wahl balder and love it (it's been my mainstay for going on 6 years) but I'm going to be doing some traveling and have found in the past that the Wahl doesn't work well with other voltages (even using an AC adapter/voltage converter). It's also somewhat heavy.

In the past, while traveling, I've just used a bic shaver but I tend to like a tiny bit of stubble on my head--the Wahl is great in just leaving the tiniest bit of stubble (on the 0 setting). I'd like to keep up my stubble look. I'm wondering if there is a decent battery-powered shaver that would work for me.

Something that would double as clippers for my facial hair would also be great. I like to keep a stubble on my face, few days worth of growth (which I usually use a separate set of clippers to maintain). Would prefer not to travel lugging around two sets of clippers, AC adapter, etc., and also give my challenges with the Wahl with other voltages.

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks
James

Welcome, James!
I have a friend who uses the Conair Clean head. He says it cuts pretty close without the use of a razor. Also, foil shavers such as Braun or Norelco may be worth a look. Good luck!
Even when the d is removed, the devil is still evil.

Has anyone got any experience with epilator? Do you use it for your hair removal? I'm thinking of getting one.

I would imagine it's a bit aggressive for the old noggin, my gf's one makes her wince just on her legs
