I honestly think that the shorter you go, the better it will look.  So I say, go for it!

Congrats on everything!! If you buzz it off with no guard, you might as well razor shave it down completely.  Otherwise it will look unkempt because of the recession and light skin.  I'm speaking from personal experience. It made a world of difference in how much better I looked once I razored it down.

Hi guys. So I did it! Buzzed it to a #1 all around, which looks like less on me because such light fine blonde hair...it is weird to me for sure, I'm not sure I like it, but I do like the FEEL of it and knowing that it cannot get messed up. But as for getting used to it, I'm sure that'll happen but right now it's hard. I am not sure how comfortable I am just showing it all off yet, but I know I probably should. I think if I was more tan it would be easier. Luckily I get to go to Aruba tomorrow so I can get a little color this week and maybe adjust before going back to work/normal routine. Any advice for this? Sorry if pic is sideways

Adding that I don't think I have a weird shaped head or anything. I am just very fair and seeing so much skin is weird! That's all I am having a hard time with

It definitely looks good and you will definitely get used to it. Show it off for sure!

Enjoy Aruba. Make sure you use lots of sunscreen and reapply often.

It looks good on you.  My suggestion is to keep the head hair frequently buzzed (don't let it gain significant length between buzzing) and gradually go shorter, then razor shaved.  The color should even out while it has a tight buzz.  Let the beard get longer at the same time.  By the time you razor shave you head, you will have good beard growth.  It makes a good contrast.

I think the buzzed look looks great on you and I think once you go totally smooth you will look even better. I also really think slybeard has the right idea slowly going shorter and shorter tell your totally smooth

What would you consider significant growth? This was a #1 buzz, so how often would you buzz it

The buzz looks good but to be quite honest, with the beard, I think you'll pull off the bald and bearded look nicely.  In one of the previous post you, the one from the 25th, I believe, the pic looks like you're beard is a little thicker.  That would work beautifully with a bald head.  You've gone this far, I say take it all the way!

I think the short buzz looks very, very nice on you.  But I do tend to agree with the peanut gallery that you'll look equally good or better with bald + beard.

Oh Yeah!  MUCH better!  See, you listened to your heart and all is working well for you.  And I like the short beard with the crisp lines as well.  (I am not a fan of bushy beards).

My honest opinion is that you should really go all the way.  You have receded to the point that you would look better shaved.  And a vacation in Aruba is the perfect time to do it!  Find yourself a great looking old fashioned barbershop and treat yourself to a hot towel head shave.

Now whatever you do, you must commit to the 30 day rule!  You need to do this for YOU!

We want to see photos of the shave - the wedding - and most of all --- the Baby!

Congratulations on your great new look.  The uniform hair and bead length looks very good on you, and also makes a nice formal look for wedding pics, etc.  As closely buzzed or shaved heads rapidly become the gold standard of grooming for men who experience natural hair loss, most men with any degree of recession contemplate embracing the sly lifestyle at some point.  After accepting full baldness as a stylisitic option, most men eventually shave their heads and wind up adopting the style either permanently or periodically.  I expect that this will also be true for you at some point, as well.  In the meantime, until you are ready for the next step, a weekly clipper trim of hair and beard will keep you looking sharp.  Good luck with your major live events.
