Ask an obvious question...
« on: October 03, 2014, 10:37:22 PM »
My wife and I were typical band parents at my kids' football game tonight. I wear a baseball cap to every game on which are pinned two picture buttons/badges of them with their respective instruments.

At one point during the game, I took off the hat. A young boy sitting behind me almost immediately yelled, "Hey! Did you lose your hair?"

I turned around and responded, "Why? Did you find it?"

All I got back from the kid and his parents was a blank, confused stare. Dang it.

My mother was a fifth grade teacher for many years.  Every year, on the first day of class, she would inform her class that, despite the old saying, there are, in fact, stupid questions and that they shouldn't bother to ask them.  That, Mr. Cave, was a truly stupid question!

Dumb and dumber? I would have let my kid have it if he made a remark like that.

"Yes that is the idea"

I've had similiar questions/things said. I tell them I combed my hair with a Schick razor and it went away....

In my early 20s I would be asked, "Did you shave your head?" almost on a daily basis.

I wasn't comfortable with my slyness yet so I would just smile and walk away.

These days I just respond with: "It's easier to apply the electroshock therapy patches this way," and wink.

Why does no one ever mention the patch thing on the lists of why it's good to be shaved?  Seems such an obvious one, hehe! ;)

Your come back was so good that they were all dumbfounded!
