No shave for 3 weeks.

So... when I shaved off a full head of hair, I couldn't wait to go out and show off my newly bald head. Three weeks ago, I trimmed my goatee down to stubble, and didn't want to leave the house. Who was that guy in the mirror!? So I panicked and started growing hair back. Now I am sporting a sharp H&T flattop. It's driving me nuts, every time I see a shaved guy, I want to go sly again. The goatee is coming back nicely, so I will probably shave this weekend. This head shaving thing has really got me hooked.

Why wait?
I feel your pain re: the goatee. I made a shaving error this weekend. In an attempt to fix it, I kept going shorter and shorter. I ended up shaving the whole thing off. I don't feel myself. Now I have a face full of stubble.

Just gotta be patient.

Reddog, I don't know how you do it. The hair on the sides of my head grows very quickly and keeps going lower (like into my ears!); but the hair on the top of my head is very thin and fine and grows very slowly. It takes me EIGHT full weeks to get 3/4 of an inch of hair in front to be able to do a High, Tight and Brutal Horse Shoe flattop!
I wish I could bounce back and forth like you do. I really do. It would resolve my "conflicted" mind!
When I go sly, it is a big commitment! I know that there is no going back without at least two months of looking and feeling like crap!

I've gone back and forth a bit since shaving back in January. I'm back to shaving now for the past 2 weeks or so, and I'm pretty sure this is now my default look, but it is nice to have options, too. Enjoy yourself and look and feel good--that's all that matters.

Yes, BBBA, my hair grows fast, I heard the norm is 1/2" per month. My plan was to grow it back some for the winter, but I honestly don't think I can do it. Don't like the grey hair, I still think it makes me look older, and I miss my morning shave routine.

Glad you are back sly and please keep the goatee (longer than stubble) - you have one of the best goatee + Sly combos around. I know what you mean about the gray hair - if I skip one day it looks like salt sprinkled all over my head. I don't think I could go long enough for a H&T as much as I like that hairstyle.

Yahoo, Slybeard, I can't wait for the goatee to get back to my previous length. And yes, at one or two days, as someone once said, my head looks like I went it and dipped it in sugar.

Hey Goatee let it grow longer. I had a before and after my grew to its current length and I will not trim mine shorter than it is. My goal is the chin to be 1" long and I am approaching 1/2".

Yup, and the seb dermatitis came back, so I had no choice but to shave it today. Right after I shaved, I went to the thrift store, it was senior day(55+). Two gals could not believe I was over 55. I told them I'm almost 61, they were looking for wrinkles, couldn't find any!! I said and not a grey hair on my head.
