Is straight baby oil safe on the noggin as a pre-shave oil?
i tried shave secret with headslick and got some irritations, so would like to try baby oil with headslick
thanks
I would stay away from baby oil because it will clog your pores.
WARHAWK
What warhawk says is true about the baby oil, I wouldn't even use it on a baby's bottom because of this.
I have used some different pre-shave oils with some success but I recently tried the Sir Hare bald head shaving oil (
http://www.sirhare.com/) and was impressed with the quality of shave that I got.
When I shave every 2-3 days, I will use a few drops of the oil as pre-shave and apply the head slick with a brush, if I'm shaving for a few days everyday, then I will use the shave oil all by itself and it works great.
Mike..
I have recently begun shaving myself. I have used shave secret and I like it but I also ordered both shave oil and shave cream from Pacific Shave. Wow! What luxury!
I had issues with baby oil, but ironically, a few drops of almond oil massaged into the scalp doesn't clog my pores and leaves a nice shine.
I use Bee Bald Products and in particular is use smooth after I shave. It is not greasy and leaves a nice shine. Not as much as an oil, but it has nutrients to help your scalp.
I've used baby oil with aloe and didn't have any problems at all...
Other options that I've put on the noggin include extra virgin olive oil, sunflower seed oil, grape seed oil, and camphor oil.
My current mix is equal parts of all the oils listed with some menthol crystals - slick and cold shaving

The only problem is, it smells like a salad with moth balls.
I tried baby oil once. It not only clogs your pores, it clogs your razor cartridges as well.
