Vacation From Sly But Not From Bald

Have any of you done this? Quit shaving your head to see how far the MPB has gone? Anyway, going on two weeks ago, I got lazy and did not shave for two days. At that point, I got curious to see how far my MPB has gone as I know that I have areas that there is much less stubble or no stubble. When I first started shaving my head, The front was in retreat and then I started getting the bald spot in the back, which I discovered when I fully grew my hair back about 10 years ago.
When I had surgery in 2010 I grew it back and had noticed it was very thin. I have a stubbly Norwood 6 pattern back then. It is still stubbly but a even more pronounced thinning. In the back of my head I am now seeing the thinning patter go even lower. I have never worn the "hairy toilet seat" before but I may let it go a month or two just to see how it looks. But I will go back to Sly.
But have any of you done this out of curiosity?
PS....I am posting this with my ipad and the photos appear sideways. But when I click on em to make them larger, they appear normal. Let me know how they look for you?

I also notice that my MPB looks uneven from one side of my head to the other. I guess another great reason to go back to sly!

Every year I go hunting and end up not shaving for about week. During that time I'm able to see where my MPB is.

Wow, Marsh -- you're bald!!

I'm also viewing on an iPad. The pics are sideways until you click on them and then they rotate and look OK.

Hi Marsh,
I haven't let mine grow back more than a few days. I don't want to see how far my mpb has advanced. I prefer to think I'm just naturally smooth and shiny!
The beard looks great by the way!

My last extensive non-shaving period was two years ago after surgery My horseshoe hasn't dipped below the cranium yet...but it's on it's way!

I am looking at this with a pc at work and the pictures do not right themselves. I will fix it on the home pc later.

Yeah, do you really think you will be able to stand that for a month or two?

I have been curious to know how gray my horseshoe has become, but I have no desire to know how much less scalp I have to shave each day.
Enjoy your "path to discovery," sir.

No worries!!!!! I will be sly again! But when I do, I plan on going to a shop at the mall called, "The Art of Shaving". They offer straight razor head shaves. I have always wanted to treat myself to that. So that may be interesting. But I also do plan on documenting my noggin when it grows out more. But no worries about the Bozo look, skullet or a combover. It will not get long enough for any of those!

Well, it has been about a month! From what I see, I am quite bald. But bald with the stunted widely spaced hairs over the top. So I trimmed them down and it looks neater! I will say that the non sly but trimmed look is not too bad. But I will be happy when I do go back to sly!

I think everybody has some strays on top. I can feel them after skipping a day of shaving, but they are much finer and less coarse than the hair in the horseshoe area. I could probably let them go for a good while before anyone could see them.
About a week or so ago I went an entire weekend without shaving which is a real rarity for me. It just got too late in the day on Sunday and I did not want to wreck my Monday morning shave by shaving late in the day on Sunday. It was a relief to get smooth again.

Well, I couldn't stand the "Hairy Toilet Seat" anymore! I had thought of going to get a professional headshave. But I have now bought a new car out of necessity, so I am feeling like I need to cut out expenses. So a $35 headshave seems to be a bit much! Also, a sly co-worker told me yesterday that I looked better with the shaved head. So last night, I took the clippers and did the deed and then shaved off the rest! But I have to admit it was fun to see how far my MPB has gone

Welcome back from the dark side.
