Shaved my head 15 years after hair transplant
« on: July 31, 2014, 09:45:47 AM »
Came here looking for encouragement. After reading several posts on here of guys who have shaved their head with scars, I did it, I shaved my head (hair trimmer w/ no guard) even though I have the ear to ear hair transplant scar. I felt really good at first, but now think I may have made a mistake. Ive told some people what the scar is really from, the reactions have been mixed at best. I like the way the my hair looks on top. I just wish, and hope I can accept  the scar and what I did and move on with my life. I have no interest in doing any thing to conceal my scar, unless grow my hair back. Anyone who has traveled this road would love to hear from you! thanks.

Welcome! Don't be so hard on yourself, many of our members are former H.T. clients. Congrats on freeing yourself from the H.T. world. As for the scars, see a dermatologist , they may be able to help

Well, if it really bothers you they can do a scar "reduction".

.Basically, they just make two incdisioin lines to cut out the part of the skin that is scarred and then draw the skin back together with very fine sutures. You will want to find a really good plastic surgeon for this and it may not be covered by insurance.  My plastic surgeon wanted cash up front!

I have had scars taken off of my face.  After the surgery I had to rub "scar cream" into the new incision lines multiple times a day for many months - the cream is expensive but the new incision lines healed so well that you would never know that there were ever scars there!

But, if it doesn't bother you - then it shouldn't bother anyone else - and so it shouldn't bother you!

Read this with the best of intentions: You felt good about yourself until someone else told you not to? Really?

It's what you think that matters. No one else.

Listen to SlyBear ^
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Do not let what other people might think about the scare on your dome.  Just live your life and enjoy.
