Back and Sly!

• I just want to reintroduce myself to the forum and report I have finally joined the ranks of the sly!  It has been several months since I posted on the forum.  I was buzzing my hair down to a number 1.  After wearing that for awhile I kept thinking about shaving my head sly.  Well today was the day!  My longtime barber encouraged me to take the plunge.  My receding had gotten worse and was gradually meeting the bald spot at the crown of my head.  Anyway my barber convinced me that I had a good head shape and should try it.  So today he buzzed me down, gave me a great shave with hot towels and a straight razor.  He then went over it with a double edge razor.  I cannot believe how smooth it is!  I keep rubbing my head and looking in the mirror .  I think it is a keeper.  My wife is surprised how good it looks and she seems ok with it.  My daughter said it looks good too. 
  
  At this point I am thinking of a weekly shave by my barber will be the plan.  He is a good guy and friend and I enjoy the visit.  Shaving it myself is an option too of course.
  
  Thanks to the forum!  Reading the post and gathering info here was a big help in making the move to sly. This seems like a great group of guys .  I look forward to posting more and getting to know everyone.

• I'm glad you finally tried sly! It definitely suits you, and it's great that your family seems to like it, too. My first plan was to shave my dome down every week or so, but that smooth feeling is hard to resist. Shaving every morning myself lets me start each day with a great clean feeling. Like others have said, it's great you have a barber to do it properly, but you might end up adding a shave to your morning routine to keep the sly look 24/7.

• Thanks for the welcome everyone.  One week in and living the new look and feel.  We are vacationing at the beach so I have gotten a good amount of color on the dome.  It was a good suggestion from several of you on the site to shave before a vacation .  It had given me a chance to get used to the look.  I am playing around with facial hair too, like the bald bearded look a lot of you have going.  Problem is my beard is pretty gray! Ha.
  
  Headed back tomorrow and already made an appointment for a head shave with my barber! He is reasonably priced and a good friend.  I am hoping he can help me get the bearded looking decent. Even for a weekly shave I will spend less than my wife spends on weekly coffee and girls nights!
