Hi, I'm bald. I have a good looking dome, so bald works for me. I'm 50 years old and shaving it all off takes ten years off me.
I just registered. What I really came to the forum was to see discussions about fashion, shirts, collars, sunglasses etc. specifically for bald men. I try to look through GQ and although Bruce Willis makes the cover, I'm not seeing many pics or ads directed at 50 year old completely bald men like me. I don't see a forum specifically dedicated to fashion, so - which forum is my best bet to find these discussions?
Many thanks.
Welcome, sir! My personal favorites are Polo shirts and gray or brown slacks. However if a bald man has some form of facial hair, just about any outfit will serve him well. Let's see what some of the other opinions are.
Thanks for the reply. It's good to know at least one other bald man is concerned about the way he looks.
I gather that for most other bald men, appearance is not a priority.
I try to always dress well. I am fifty, too, and find that the magazines like GQ and Esquire focus on young guys. I'm always conscious of dressing my age and not trying to imitate some twenty year old. These little boy suits they advertise in the magazines are joke ish. I do try to wear slim cut suits and shirts, but what I see in magazines are models with jackets that don't fit, are a size or two too small and pant legs that are too short.
I don't think my bald head really affects what I wear. I usually try to wear classic clothes - stuff that never goes out of style. I am a teacher and often wear bow ties to work. I'm usually in Levi's on the weekends.
Lucky Mike. 50 something and still fitting slim shirts.
I have dropped 13 pounds since May 1st, so my shirts are not as snug. Really like the LL Bean Oxford cloth shirts. They stay crisp and perma pressed for a long time. Cost a little more to buy, but stay good looking for a long time.
Get most of my slacks, sports jackets and suits at Men's Warehouse. They have a nice conservative look (and a few younger styles too).
Stock up on some nice sweater vests and standard vests for the cooler days of winter. Oh, and don't forget Bow Ties!
