Welcome, Jason.
Talk about confidence. I doubt many of us made the decision to shave and followed through with it so rapidly. Congratulations.
You probably will discover that most people, if they say anything, will react to the new look only the first time they see you. By the second or third time, they will accept it as part of you like your eye color.
Welcome Jason and congrats on taking the plunge! The first day back at work was a little nerve racking for me too but I had mostly positive comments from everyone. Like others have said, the comments just last for a short time. As far as the sideburns go, just experiment and see what you like best.
The area the top of the sideburns can stop ranges from mid ear to the top of the ear, the place where eye glass arms would sit. I suggest you start high and then trim down if it looks too high.
Most beards look patchy when starting out and the normal rule is to give a beard 3 months to see how it will fill in, and the cheeks are normally the slowest area to grow. Only a few guys can grow a nice looking beard in just a few weeks.
I tried the head blade today, I broke out like crazy in the back around my neck. Freaked out bc it looked and felt horrible, used some Benadryl cream which quickly took away the itching, burning, and red bumps.
Good news is work went well. Def got some looks at first, but mostly positive comments. I think I'll stick to the Mach 3 and going with the grain for a bit to let my scalp adjust. Anyways I'm feeling really good about the decision to go sly. Thanks everyone!
Welcome, Jason! -and congratulations on taking the plunge to slydome. It looks great on you, and as others have already said, you look like a natural.
As far as the top of the beard goes, this is another area where people have differing opinions, so you just have to do what you like best.
Welcome. Great choice. Being sly looks good on you. It looks real natural. I can't imagine you with hair.
