Just found the site yesterday. Don’t know why I never looked for a forum for this subject before, but glad I found it. Lots of good information.
I’ve always was one of those summer bald guys. The rest of the year I’ve got by with wearing a hat due to my ever receding hair line. And that has been fine for the last 20 years of my carrier as a machinist/inspector. But now at 40 I have moved into a more professional position, and wearing a ball cap is sort of looked down upon.
Just a few things I’ve learned about myself over the years when it comes to shaving my head is. I can usually get away with shaving every other day, and trying new razors scare the hell out of me. I use a gillete mach3 that I’ve had for years. A few years ago I bought a pack of 3 blade disposables. Lets just say I bled so much I’m surprised I didn’t need a blood transfusion...lol
My current routine is applying shave butter from dollar shave club (love that stuff), shaving, and then applying a generic lotion. Which I found out yesterday I have quite a few more options, so I’ll be putting together a little shopping list today.
I found the site because I was looking for some sort of sunscreen that might also be a lotion designed specifically for men who shave their heads.
Found a lot of great suggestions and information I didn’t even know I was looking for which is why I joined the site.
Thanks and I look forward to learning a lot

Welcome, ksshane! -glad you joined us!
Welcome to SBG ksshane! Glad you found us! I also shave with a Mach 3 and in my years of shaving, you can't go wrong with that razor. I've only been shaving my head continuously for about a month and a half and Mach 3 is all I'll use.
As far as sunscreen goes, there is L'Oreal Men's Expert Comfort Max After Shave Balm. It has an SPF of 15 and it's supplied at Walmart. I've used it a few times for days when I know I'll be outside for a while and it's worked well.
Welcome! Glad you could join us.
