Newly Sly
« on: May 22, 2014, 09:41:51 AM »
Hi everyone,

I've been checking out some of the posts on this forum as I was deciding whether to go all the way bald or not, but this is my first time posting. I'm 22 and newly BBC. I've always liked the short hair look, so I've had buzzcuts of all lengths since I was a teenager. However, I always wondered what it would be like to be completely bald. Recently I've had the courage to go all the way to a smooth head, and so far I love it!

Here are the before and after pics from the first time I went fully sly:

Before: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7ZjOwjHkqmyeU9TQzNTdEFNN0U/edit?usp=sharing

After: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7ZjOwjHkqmyVTlhSVg4YUNlZ2M/edit?usp=sharing

It feels great, and I don't think it looks too bad, either. I'm thinking of shaving it everyday or every other day for at least a couple of weeks. Let me know what you all think!

Thanks!

Welcome baldgrad, I wish I'd done it at 22. Your life becomes so much easier when you don't have to think about hairstyle(s). Enjoy the freedom!

Thanks everyone for your friendly welcome and for your support! It gives me greater confidence that I made a good decision after all. I was a little self-conscious about shaving to the skin, since most of the bald guys I see around here have MPB, so there aren't too many BBC guys with full heads of hair who have gone all the way. The men in my family don't really go bald. (They tend to get a lot of gray, though.) Thus, it felt kind of odd to be going for the baldy look. It feels good knowing there are others who are just as enthusiastic about cutting it all off.

I think I'm going to have to do the 30-day challenge now. At first I wasn't so sure, but now that people have seen me sly (without too much of a reaction one way or another!) I don't see why not. I love the feel of being completely smooth, and like Frontier Guy says, there's definitely a lot of freedom attached to not having any hair!

Thanks again!

Welcome to the sly side baldgrad! I echo Frontier Guy also by saying life is easier bald. You'll probably find it hard to go back to having hair.  Being bald is addicting!  I've had my head shaved bald for about a month and a half now and I love it more every day. I now look forward waking up in the morning so I can have a freshly clean shaven head.

I think I'm already starting to feel the addiction, AJ Q-Ball. I'm excited to shave it clean again tomorrow morning. I've been doing it every other day, and there's a good amount of stubble on it now, so I don't know if I'll eventually switch to every morning. There's nothing like having a smooth dome!

Yes, I'm definitely enjoying it. One of the most surprising things, BaldLuke, is that my head actually IS shiny! I thought being BBC I would need some kind of lotion to put on it to make it shine, but I didn't put anything on it and it still reflects the sun pretty well, especially after going for a run. I guess I truly am a bald guy now!
