Panasonic ES-LA63-S
« on: May 07, 2014, 09:46:20 AM »
This is the new electric razer I just got off of Amazon. Can you all let me know how well you  think it will work for shaving my head. It is a Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc4 Men?s Electric Shaver Wet/Dry.

Here is a link to it on Amazon.

Thanks

Roger

I've had an ES-8243K for several years. It does a nice job on my dome and can be used wet or dry. I normally use it with Lectric Shave but I make sure to clean the blades carefully afterward.
One thing about electrics in here, there are three schools of thought in SBGs. Group One is the guys who stand by their blades over all else. There is no shave like a blade shave. Group Two is the electric crowd. No matter what they are going to shave with an electric. There is no room in their shaving kit for a blade.
Group Three is where I land. I mostly shave with a blade but I fill in with my Panny. To be sure the blade gives me a closer shave than my electric, no doubt. But I find that if I did a blade shave in the morning and I need a touch-up later on that day my Panny does a more than acceptable job. My dome shines after going over it with the electric just like it does after a blade shave but there is a minor velcro feel to it but it is not noticeable to anyone but me.
I've had a few electrics over the years and in my opinion the Pannys are the best of the herd. I don't think you'll regret your choice.

P. S.: Check out a site called the Panasonic Premium Store. Mostly they have lower prices on shavers and accessories than Amazon. A lot of their stuff is what is called "re-furbished" which raised some red flags with me at first. But then somebody in here explained that this is just a new unit with all the bugs worked out.

Thanks for all the information. I understand that and electric razor will never get as good as the blade but days that I am pressed for time I could use the electric razor and get a decent head shave. I am looking forward to the Razor coming in the mail. I actually got $40 off the$135.00 price. I think I got a pretty good deal.

Okay the shaver came yesterday. I will say it gives me a great close shave. I am very surprised how close and smooth it is after about five minutes with the electric shaver on my head. Now the blade does get a little bit smoother but not much. I am very very impressed and happy with my purchase. It will come in handy on days I am in a hurry and don't have time to get the shaving brush shaving cream and blade out.
