Howdy
« on: April 23, 2014, 02:48:37 PM »
Hey all. I've been lurking for a little while. I really just wanted to thank people for posting here. I've shaved my head off and on for half my life and only recently tried out the Headblade. I picked up the ATX and their shave cream at the local Walgreens and had one of the worst shaving experiences ever. I thought I would never try the products again, but read on this forum that some people were sensitive to the cream so after healing, I tried with my previous preparation of shaving oil and aveeno shave cream and had a much better shave. I was still unhappy a I had a problem getting a few spots completely smooth but again, but I read that I should be pressing harder with the HB4, which was bad for me and I cut myself worse than any time previous. I read on these forums that it looked like lots of people here have had success using the other adaptors on the ATX, I decided to give it another try. I ordered some hb3s and some sensor adaptors and today I shaved half my head with an hb3 and the other half with a sensor 3. Both were superior to the hb4 but I think I liked the sensor just a tad bit more...maybe because it doesn't have a closed back. I still might try a sensor excel blade since I have an extra one laying around.

That's for the advice!

Welcome to the club, skepto. The Schick hydro 5 works well for me.

Welcome! I can't speak for the Headblade but Mach 3 works well for me.

thanks for the welcome. I've tried the mach 3, fusion, fusion proglide, Gillette body, hydro 5, and some of the older schicks. So far, headblade atx with a sensor 3 head has been my favorite head shave. I've been I using shave secret for a very long time and recently added aveeno positively smooth shaving cream. I like to finish up with aveeno men's aftershave.

Thanks for joining SBG.

I much prefer the Head Blade Sport. No longer available in stores, but available online.

It just works better for me than the ATX.  Also the HB4 blades are supposed to work in the Sport, but that was a disaster, too.

While you are trying things out, you might try the sport and the HB3 blades. ( both only available online).

Welcome aboard, Skepto.  The Headblade with Headslick works very well for me.  I use it in the shower.
