I work in an elementary school, so if there is any change in your appearance, the kids notice and do not hesitate to comment. If you have a pimple, you will be informed of this at least twenty times.
Today I arrived at school with a freshly shaved head, I had shaved off my goatee over the weekend, and I was wearing my contacts instead of glasses. A second grader said, “You look different.” I told him I shaved my beard and he replied, “You look like Pinocchio.”
I have been trying to figure that one out. At first, I thought maybe he meant the old guy, Gepetto, but he has a full head of white hair and a mustache. So it couldn't be him. Since I don’t have a long pointy nose, I have to figure he meant I look like a boy and chalk it up to my youthful good looks!
Classic... take it as freshly scrubbed, impish, boyish... a compliment of the highest order.
