Shaving w/ a clipper vs a razor...

My friend told me that it's a different look w/ the clipper as it leaves a shadow vs a razor where it's skin to skin. Is there really such a drastic difference in how you look between the two?

It's a pretty big difference in look to me. I did the clippers several times before I actually shaved it.
If you have dark hair you will still have a shadow most of the time but the feel is a lot different.
Just go ahead and shave it and if you don't like it it will be back to clipped length in a week or less.

The difference in clipper vs razor shave shapes your face differently? That's what I meant. I don't care the difference in how it feels, just how it looks honestly.

There is a lot of difference in looks depending on how dark your hair is.

Dude, your scalp is flat out smoother with a blade shave.

Yeah, that first picture is how my hair looks after using a clipper... I just thought I was using a poor clipper.
Would an electric shaver get me very close to how it looks w/ a razor? I just want a shadow...the way it looks w/ in that clipper picture I don't even consider that to be really bald.

That's probably after a few days growth, but it is the best picture I could find.
An electric shaver would be closer for sure. I've never used one so I can't give any specifics. Look around on here, there are lots of threads about them.

I use a Series 3 Braun electric shaver and it does give me almost as smooth as a blade. 99.9% the same as a blade for me!

Would this constitute as bald?
http://imgur.com/3pBJRmwAnd I got that w/ a clipper going over it four times, a bit annoying.
Would an electric razor get me down to roughly the same length and quicker? I don't want to be skin bald.

Just shave your head. You have dark hair, you are going to have a shadow except for maybe immediately after you shave. If that's a problem shave at night and you will have stubble in the morning.
Just try it, if you don't like it it will be grown out to clipped length in just a few days.

Gotcha, thanks.
Anyone have a recommendation for a quality electric shaver? I don't want to use a manual razor because I already know it's going to irritate the hell out of my sensitive skin, lol

and the braun electric doesn't take off as much as a regular gillette razor? I know it's not a huge difference, but I prefer having a shadow/outline over a completely exposed scalp while I still do have 85% of my hair.
