Twice a day ?

Hi sorry if theres already a thread on this topic but I couldnt see one. Does anyone shave their head more than once daily ?. I shaved my head bbs early this morning and its rough again, would a second early evening shave be ok ? or would it be too much for the scalp to handle

I think that - particularly soon after you initiate head shaving - twice a day may be a bit too aggressive.

I expect that you'll learn to accept "five o'clock head stubble" as part of being BBS (it just adds to the payoff when you shave the next morning).

The only time I shave in the late afternoon/evening is when I'm going out and want to be in top form.

thanks for the reply frontier guy. I might switch to an evening shave, I dont go out much at night having 3 young kids (no social life !)

Despite buzzing my head for over 3 decades, and 7 years of shaving, more than once a day would definitely cause a lot of irritation for me. In fact, I only shave every other day to avoid back-of-neck irritation.

When I first started shaving, I did 2 times a day often because I always wanted a smooth noggin all the time. You really have to be careful of irritation though.  Now the only time I will do it is when I might have limited time in the morning so I will shave the night before. Otherwise it's a little too time consuming and not always practical from a time perspective.

I'll bet you're not completely bald and still have reasonably dark hair. That's how I was when I first shaved it 15 years ago. Then to keep it from looking as if I had the world's closest crop, I shaved twice a day; It was the only way to look really shaved and not as if I had ultra fine grit sand paper glued to my head.

I enjoy getting the shower, the warm water, the whole shaving experience but, like you, twice a day places time constraints on me that I didn't necessarily have. I now shave my face with a straight razor so that means in the shower and at my basin, even more time.

However the time it takes I wouldn't go back to fully furred. Sometimes I think about having what remains remove by laser. But then I'd deny myself the pleasure of the shower shave....

If you get a close shave in the morning unless your hair grows very fast you shouldn't need a 2nd shave. If you're going out then I would recommend waiting to shave until you're getting ready.

Hingatao , us yorkshiremen arent easily offended  . I'm a DE face shaver and sometimes have a second evening face shave and being a newbie head shaver just wanted some advice from more experienced members on this forum. Guess I'll stick to once daily, thanks for all the advice. Me OCD, you've got me worried now

If you feel like a 2nd shave is completely necessary, do use a blade. If you have an electric face shaver just use that. You want to be careful with your skin.

Can't do it myself...plus I can get away with every other day, sometimes 2 since I have very thin hair to begin with.

I may touch it up for a second time if I know I'm going out later that day or night.

From experience, it could be too much for the scalp to handle. You may find that you get a poor second shave in the day, because there's less for the razor blade to remove.

Stick with one a day. Or what I sometimes do, is three shaves in four days. Day 1: morning shave, day 2: evening shave, day 3: no shave, day 4 morning shave...

I shave once each day, but as earlier mentioned by others I sometimes shave a second time if Im going out or wanna feel extra fresh (baby smooth).

My recent routine has been shaving with the electric, then shaving right after in the shower with a razor. Surely makes for a close shave, and the scalp in getting really tough, finally. I'm sure at some point I with go with just the razor.
