Thinking of it.. I wear a hairpiece, with pics

Im 36 and I know that everyone says that everyone knows its a hairpiece.. but, some people can not make it work some people just look like they should be balding, they have thining temples and have lost oo much side hair or they go to some hairclub who only services it once per month.. I got wearing sorted, I do it all myself detaching/reattaching every few days, all my close friends and girlfriends know it, some girls I have slept with 3 or 4 times without them even knowing then I have told them and they been shocked. lol I even post pics to my facebook one day having short hair then the next having medium length hair.

Well the expense and hassle of keeping it perfect and yes the wearing a hairpiece.. I would like the option of going sly a few months of the year or full time.

I have a kind of weird shaped head, I think its like a cone head, when I was first going seriously nw3+ bald at the age of 23, everyone told me to shave it then I did and yep they said it looked bad, but at that time I was much younger and really skinny maybe it could work for me now.

My side hair does grow fast and I could grow back to a 2# 3# within no time so I suppose there is not that much to lose. I like the undercut look and could style my hairpiece like that within a few weeks.

I would not like to do this and have a rashed white head so I would research and do it right.

Will post some side and back pics later, as I think my head looks even weirder from the side.

You've got no worries regarding head shape, and the photos make it easy to picture you with a shaved head. You'll look great.

Wouldn't a shaved head be a lot less work?

I must be tired or something, because the thought of dealing with hair/hairpiece feels exhausting ... just thinking about it.

Hope you'll try it, because I think you'll like the freedom ... follow the "30 Day Rule" to give it get the real feeling and to allow others to adjust to the new look.

If you do, I predict you'll be in the chorus of "Why didn't I do this sooner?"

I think you have a perfect head for sly myself. If you do the deed, may I suggest growing some facial hair to offset the newness of the sly head? You say that you shaved your head before sometime back, but it appears that you may have stopped because of the negative response. Nowadays, shaved heads are more common to the point that anybody with a life won't even care. We have another member from down under, 50 plus, who had a story somewhat similar to yours, and he seemed happier once he went sly and hasn't looked back since. Hopefully 50 plus can share his story with you when or if he reads your story. Good luck to you and keep us posted; you're among friends here.

Nothing wrong with the shape of your head but the cellophane looks a little funny!  Seriously, it sounds like you're tired of all the maintenance of keeping up with the piece.  That's a lot of time you could spend enjoying something else.

I agree with my sly brethren, shave it! You'll look and feel great and you'll be liberated from the cost and hassle of wearing the hairpiece. I'm confident once you do your only regret will have been waiting so long to do it.

You don't have anything to lose.  Give it a try... it sounds like you are ready.  I agree with Frontier Guy... it sounds exhausting to work as hard as you are working on the hairpiece.

The thought of a hairpiece is not something I want to dwell upon.  YOur head shape is good so why not experiment with a shaved head for 30 days - I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised how good you look.

And no more expense or worries.

As with everything new and somewhat of a change from the "same old thing" there's a breaking in period. You're not quite comfortable with it. Rather like a new suit, it fits, just not like the old suit fit. In not very long, you'll forget it's the New Suit just as you'll forget the hair that, after all, was going to leave anyway. Relax, enjoy it, you have a great shaved head, probably will look better shaved than with oddments of hair and man made fibres wandering all over. Come back to us in three months for a status report. Roast at 350 degrees F. for 15-20 minutes per pound. Baste frequently to seal in the juices.
