Newbee considering ditching my hairpiece
« on: February 03, 2014, 01:15:24 PM »
Hi guys

I am new to SBG, I have worn a hair system for over 10 years now. Whilst it
worked for me for a time, I have decided since I am starting a new job next
week and it was secured over the phone, now is the time to ditch the hair.
I am 48 years old and don't feel with the expense and the acceptance of
the ageing process, carrying on wearing is an option without the continued
reactions socially and the workplace, one of which was a horrible period
of workplace abuse and bullying. I would be a liar if I said it did not affect
my confidence. I am making this new decision for myself not based on the
judgments of negative mindsets from the past.

Thanks

Simon in the UK

Welcome aboard brother!  I think the choice is wise and you will feel completely liberated.  Good luck to you.

Glad you joined us, Simon.

I think you are going to be happily surprised by how liberating it will be to throw the worries of the hairpiece away.

When you say "ditch the hair" are you referring just to the hairpiece or do you mean shaving/buzzing everything off you scalp?

Hello Simon,

This seems like the perfect time for you to do this.  Losing the system will allow you to lose all the baggage and worry that comes with it.  Good luck to you and your new start.  It is really liberating when we start accepting ourselves for who we are.  And I think the confidence follows.

Let us know your progress and stick around the Forum.  It is a great place for support.

I echo the others, Simon.  Ditch that stupid rug.  This would be a good opportunity--as long as it is your "bald debut"--to shave your head at the same time, but at least get rid of the piece.

Welcome, Simon! As the others said, give sly a try! Don't worry about the reactions, people will treat it as just another haircut. Good luck!

As I said in a PM ditch the rug and see just how liberated you feel.  The new job is the perfect opportunity.

Welcome Simon!  I agree with Bear.  Now I'm going to make up some SBG T-shirts that say this...lol.
