Nick or Razor bump?
« on: July 25, 2007, 03:16:44 PM »
Well, I finally nicked my head yesterday that is turned into a little lump on the side of my forehead that looks like I'm about ready to sprout horns. Not sure what it is, but I've been avoiding that spot today and it still started to bleed. Could this be a simple razor bump, nick, or a brain tumor? Whats the best way to treat something like this? It stops after awhile if I apply a little toilet paper on the wound, but then I look like I have a big spitwad on my head.  :*)) Any help/advise would be appreciated.

Jim, one of the best ways I have found to control bleeding  is to apply cold in the form of really cold water or ice and the use of a stiptic pencil.  It does a great job for me.  Sounds like it could possibly be an ingrown hair which you would have to remove to start the healing.  Avoid shaving the area and if you feel you must, use an electric razor gently over that spot.  Hope this helps.

i have a mole that i nick every now and then...i use liquid bandages and then use my electric to shave that spot until it heals......i've also noticed that almost everytime i have nicked it.. my razor was way overdue to be changed...my razors last me  2 or 3 weeks...

Thanks for the advice guys. I finally have it under control and the bump is much smaller now.  I'm beginning to think it may be the blade on the HeadBlade  that caused it. It's still rather new, but since I shave the dome twice a day, I may need to replace it more often than a standard face shaving razor. It takes more effort now to achieve the close shave I want, so I guess it's time to change.

I'm still learning the ropes. >_<
