Finally did it - 30 days in and loving it.
« on: November 09, 2013, 04:21:54 PM »
My hairline was receding, thinning and balding, and I'd tried everything I could.  In the spring, I finally buzzed it down and liked it, and gradually did it shorter and shorter.  When I was at a 1 guard, I figured I could try the bald thing and if I didn't like it, I could let it grow back and in two weeks be back where I was.   Between this and losing 40 pounds over the course of a year, I've never felt better!  I'm using the Headblade ATX and their shaving cream.  I use it in the shower every day - that was the one thing I hadn't anticipated - the need to shave every day to keep it down to the scalp.

Congratulations.  Yes, the urge to shave every day surprised me, too.  I'm about six weeks into total baldness.  You look great.  Welcome to the club.

Right!  For some reason I thought shaving the head would be a 2x week chore.  But I guess it stands to reason that I need to shave my face every day, then the hair on my scalp would also grow out daily!   No worries, just an extra seven minutes in the shower and it's all good!

I wish I'd done this a year ago.  I love the fact that this look works with a suit, or you can put on a black shirt and jeans and look rock and roll.    You just have to take a deep breath and try it!   Thanks for all of the advice - if I hadn't found this forum I probably wouldn't have tried it.

Great story, Geddyflea!

You are right about how the sly look goes with anything!  Professional, cool, casual, rock and roll..whatever.. and you don't have to worry about hat hair, or hair that gets flat in the back if you sit in a tall chair....(although it takes a pretty tall chair for me)..lol.

Looking sharp! Congrats on hitting the 30-day mark.  I got there today, myself.

I also use the Headblade ATX and was surprised to find I needed to shave everyday.  I initially thought I could get away with it a couple of times a week!

Way to go on dropping the 40 pounds . . . that could not have been easy!  You're a new man.

Cheers,

S.

You just have to take a deep breath and try it!

I have been saying that for a long time to the guys who come here saying they are scared to start.

You have a great success story, sir.

Welcome.

Looks great!! I have the same aviators.
