Hi to all
Woke up this morning and was working on the computer when I noticed the date was the 4th November and it suddenly dawned on me it was on the 4th October that I eventually took control of my hair (lack off it) issues and visited a salon for the clipper and wet shave treatment.
One month on and I feel great and love my new look. The feedback from my family, friends and the 50+ students I teach has been fantastic. More important though I feel a great weight lifted off my shoulders. I actually enjoy my time in front of the mirror now head shaving rather than fretting over my little amount of hair and arranging my comb over. It is not a vanity 'thing' it's just about my self preservation and self esteem gained from the confidence in how I look.
I live in Thailand so I have the benefit of not feeling so hot due to my shaved head. There nothing better than the feeling of the sun on your sun creamed head or the feel of the air conditioning cooling your dome down. I never realised one's scalp is so sensitive to whatever environment you find yourself in.
I originally started shaving my head with a Gillette Blue 3 disposable but wanted to get a closer shave. After undertaking research on this site and a few days into my 30 days I purchased a Head Blade ATX ( my daughter ordered it for me and sent it from England). Since then I have never looked back.
I start my shaving routine by standing under a hot shower for five minutes. From there I move to the sink where I apply my head blade slick shaving cream. I use the head blade ATX with HB4 blades and every time I get the same result; that of a really smooth dome. After my shave I stand under the cold shower and then pat dry my head with a soft towel. I then apply aloe vera gel moisturiser, I apply this twice a day just to keep my scalp well cared for.
Overall, I feel so much better and am confident in my new look. To anyone else contemplating taking the plunge, my advice would be think about how much 'energy' the worrying about your hair loss is 'taking out' of you. Consider other aspects of your life where you have 'taken control' and how much better this has made you feel about that situation. The same applies to hair loss IMO. Maybe it's time for you to take control. Surely all the guys on here cannot be wrong what more evidence does anyone need than the 'real life' testimonies you can read on this site. The true life stories on here are not trying to sell any products, or get you to 'splash' out any money! They are just honest accounts from your fellow man 'reaching out' to you and wanting to share their new found freedom !
