The grey dilemma
« on: October 26, 2013, 08:03:17 PM »
I can't imagine putting myself through a regimen like this, particularly when the results are mediocre at best.  What do you think?

I'm not sure why they felt it would look natural to have a grey-less beard and lots of grey on his head.   D#tG3t

It also appeared to me that his skin did gets stained with dye despite their precautions.

If I had to go through that much trouble I think I would just shave.

Neither do I, Slymyke. It all looks a tedious time consuming chore.

Is it some hippy-dippy vegan thing to use henna and indigo instead of buying a box of Just for Men that takes a few minutes to apply?

I suppose it's safer for people who have had skin reactions to JFM.

Definitely not worth 4 1/2 hours.  The JFM stuff works great if you only have a little gray to cover, but there is not enough in the kit for a full beard with a lot of gray.  I use another brand of hair color that is less expensive and has four times the quantity in the box (it's marketed to ladies, but the same chemicals).  It take me about 20 minutes once a week and I have never had any skin reactions.  They all stain the skin, so with any product you have to be careful to not get it on the surrounding skin, or wash it off immediately if you do.  A skin stain will last about 24 to 48 hours.
