« on: September 17, 2013, 12:08:14 PM »
I am really interested in the SkullShaver, but have not tried it: www.skullshaver.com
Has anyone tried it yet?

They will even bring new models on the market this Christmas. I already did a pre-order on http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/horizontal-shavers-anatomically-efficient-to-shave-head-face-and-body
I am very looking forward to try this new gadget!  O0

I have it.

So far I am not terribly impressed with it. The rotary blades don't seem to cut too well. The power button is also on the base you lay it on, and there is no LED indicator to show how much battery is left on the unit (the LED is on the PS and just turns red when connected and green when disconnected).

You can't get it wet either so no using it in the shower.

The plastic cover is hard to get to snap onto the blades too.

It does come with a nice set of instructions in color, and I did get a nice email from them thanking me for trying it. I wish it shaved closer (AKA skin) that I could use in the shower as well.

It's a great idea and concept but unfortunately for me, one that didn't bear the fruit I thought when I "planted the seed." YMMV

Good luck and keep us posted.  I have yet to find an electric that shaves closer than my beloved DE or SE razors.

With the new models they say they improved the following:
I.e. more powerful battery and motor, waterproof body, cordless and corded operation, choice of differently contoured three rotor shaver head.

Also a LED indicator for the battery is available and the powerButton seems on the right place on top of the device. On the SMART devices it has even a built-in an LCD level indicator and you can charge it on USB.

It seems that the new model has quite improved! I hope it will also give a smooth cut :)

Dont know never heard of the skullshaver , electric shavers so far do a good job , but dont produce the shiny look I like which is only achievable by wet shaving

After shaving the head with an electric shaver, rinse with cold water, place a few drops of olive oil in the palm of your still wet hands, rub together and then rub on your still wet head. That will give you the shiny look and also help moisturize your scalp.
:
I have not used a skull shaver, but I have used a Philips/Norelco three head shaver on my head and found that while it takes a little while to get a good shave, it does do a good job. The trick is to go slowly in circular motions, don't press too hard, and go over each area a few times.

Recently, I have been using the below shaver on my head and it works very well for not a lot of money:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Waterproof-Electric-Shaver-Groomer-Pop-Up-Trimmer-w-Shave-Cover-Brush-/350705592436?pt=Collectible_Knives&hash=item51a7aea874

It works on AA batteries (I use Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeables and they last over three weeks on one charge). It does not have a low battery indicator, but you can tell when the battery is starting to get low because the shaver slows down a little. I just keep a spare set of recharged batteries handy and swap them when it starts to slow down.

The shaver is water washable and can be used wet or dry, although I get my best shaves by simply wetting my hands with water, rubbing it on my head and then shaving. You can add more water or even a few drops of olive oil mixed with the water for a super smooth shave. If you do this after you shave, you will get the shiny head look.

Good luck with the skull shaver and let us know how it works.
