Welcome! I think that there is some slight thinning/receding, but unless you want to, you don't have to shave it right now if you don't feel comfortable. A nice short buzzcut will make it look a better and make you look younger. Good luck to you and the Mrs. (how does she feel about your hair?)

She has never really mentioned my hair except for when i had a go-tee, which she said she didnt like so i shaved it off. So i like to think she doesnt mind my balding.

Cutting it shorter should make it less noticable, but talk to your barber. He may be able to recommend something else?
To be honest I've seen (and been) worse, and am still happily married. I was around the same age as you when I first started noticing problems. I was also newly married, and had cut my hair short ready for the wedding photos. I grew it long again after - which saw me though the next eight years or so before I had to give in and go for a buzz cut.
Do make sure that you talk to your wife about your worries - although maybe play down the "golddigger" part of it!

Good advice, talk to her about it. When I shaved my head, my S/O liked it, then wanted me to grow it back(I'm BBC), and she actually shaved me bald 3 days ago, and likes it. She got used to it, and just wants me to be happy. Guess I'm saying if she truly loves you, hair doesn't matter. I have received dozens of compliments from women, a lot more like shaved heads than you think.

Yeah just ask her about it, but I think shaving it is a good idea at this point. But it's up to both of you but mainly you. I'm sure she will want what makes you happy.
I personally think you'll like it.

If you are ready for it, go ahead and shave it. Just make sure you stick with the 30 day rule so both of you can get used to it. When you first see yourself shaved there is quite a shock so give yourself and your s/o time to get used to and love it.

Let's put the most important thing first: stop doubting your wife's motivations for marrying you. She obviously saw many things about you that won her love, so stop thinking she married for something as superficial as your hair. Ask yourself this: did you marry her for a single physical feature? I hope not.
Now let's talk about your hair. If it's reached the point where it's ruining your self esteem and making you feel down, take control of the situation. Try buzzing progressively shorter to get accustomed to seeing yourself with short hair. Ask you wife how she likes it at each step. My guess is she'll adjust to it pretty quickly, especially if she sees that you like it. And that's really the point: if you like it, other people see that and they get past the change pretty quickly. There will always be naysayers, but if you're happy, that's what matters.

Welcome to the forum sir, we hope you'll find a lot of useful and helpful advice here on the various pages...
Firstly, don't expect your wife to have married you for your hair. It's a form of self-expression, that's all. Some women shave as well - for whatever reason you choose, you should first talk it over with her, express your concerns and maybe ask a barber his/her opinion. I can't imagine anything bad would come of it.
That being said, my crown is very like yours, thin and the old "monk's cap" in the back. I went with a buzz cut. I used to get a #2 but that wasn't cutting it as much so I went to a #0. Then a #000 and well, the rest is, shall we say, a close shave?
Personally, I think a close buzz cut would work well for you, but if you feel (as I did) it was still noticeable, you might have to get it cut pretty tight to make it more uniform. The tighter you make it, the closer you'll be to shaving it, so it won't be as big a "shocker" if you decide to 'go all the way.'
Good luck and hope to see you around the forum! Let us know how you make out!

I agree with sir harry...a tight buzz will suit you, then you can decide if you want to shave or not...its not for everyone
