Pulled the trigger on the ATX

Saw it for $13 at Rite-Aid and figured I'd see what everybody is talking about. I love my Sport with HB2, and the HB3 carts didn't really work that well for me so this should be interesting. I love the look and feel of this ATX though. Anybody used the twin blades with it?

I think you'll like it. I use mine daily with good results.

Just make sure that the blades face the wheels. I took the whole drive backwards concept too far when I got mine.

Maybe it's just a bad mix/match. The local Walgreens no longer carries the HB3 blades, so tried the HB4 in my Sport. I'm returning them to Head Blade for an exchange to HB3 blades. The HB3's seem to work so well and the HB4 was a really bad experience. Perhaps they just work better with the ATX razor. Any comments on this?

I like them on the ATX, haven't really tried them out on the sport. The HB4 don't clog which I really like.

i totally agree MRZED- the HB 3 on the Sport is perfect! The HB 4 are not good on the Sport and the ATX with the HB 4 leaves me missing spots- since you cant buy the HB 3 in stores , I have given up and am using my Fusion- too bad HB does not still push the HB 3 for us guys who have the Sport.

In another post Tyler presented an interview with Todd Green of Head Blade explaining why the stores are no longer carrying the HB3 and Sport.
You now have to get them online only. But they are offering buy 4 get 5 on the HB3 on the web site to help compensate with shipping.
They were willing to exchange my HB4 blades for HB3 ... not quite a one for one swap, but better than nothing.
My HB 3 blades did arrive and I'm a happy shaver again. Love the Sport and HB3 blades.

I was a big fan of the Sport, but when I started shaving the noggin again, I couldn't find any HB3s at my local stores. I saw the ATX and gave it a shot. I have to say that I like it even better than the Sport. It shaves closer than my Schick Hydro 3. I seem to have much more control over it. The learning curve is definitely shorter than it was for the Sport.

I didn't have luck with the HB3, but I may have gotten a bad pack. They sell the discount pack on their website.

I'm mixed on the ATX. I find it does not shave really close, so I tend to end up, in some areas, getting out the Fusion and 'cleaning up' with that. I did find a list of suggestions from Tyler so I might try them tonight.
I haven't given up on it and do like the design (I have one of the first HB's with the 2 blade carts in it) and it is comfortable to use. It can be a little challenging to change the direction of it when you have wet, slippery hands and you want to get a close, tight shave.
What can I say, I am a stickler for the smooth dome!

It's a really nice razor. My twin blade carts from my sport work really well in it, but it does seen to have a better balance if I stick with the HB4 in it. I really like it, but 4 blades kinda get a little irritating on my scalp and start to cause a few more ingrown hairs. Its a tricky balance.

I tried mine again last night. It worked well, but it took me a lot longer to shave it smooth than my Fusion. It is comfortable to use though I will say that. I did have a little shave irritation on some spots where it took more passes to get it sly.
I love their products and the innovation. I'll check out some of their vids this weekend - maybe they have tips and suggestions I am missing...
It might bulk it up a lot, but perhaps a battery operated razor might work, similar to the Fusion Power, but in a nifty HB design. I do like the way the Fusion Power works and leaves a nice smooth dome.

So far, so good with mine. Had the ATX for a couple of weeks and it works well with the Headslick. Bought them both at the local Walgreens. I also was able to get a pack of the cartridges at Walgreens too.

This product has not even nearly hit our shelves yet. (And I don't do online shopping, don't ask me why.) I would seriously consider buying one if it was available. My HB Sport, however, is still getting good milage on my head - a year later.
