Bald IS beautiful... and it will always be so!
Hello everyone!

Hey folks!
I just signed up on the forum a few days ago. I have long been a proponent of the bald look, but up until recently I did't actually go through with it (I did once but didn't keep it, which I should have!) and I wish I was as cognizant of how great it feels to be smooth then as I am now.
My brother wicked his hair off about 10-11 years ago, like myself he was seeing thinning hair and was tired of it. Ironically his started at the front and mine started at the back!
Now it's my 1 week anniversary Saturday of the smooth melon. I had my hair cut really short in the morning and when I looked at it, the need to shave (no longer the
want
...) became so overwhelming I hit the shower, hit the lather and brought the blade up...
My workplace has been rather silent, no one has mentioned much of anything. One woman said I looked good and could 'carry the look' - but she also mentioned from the short hair it wasn't a big change either. I suppose as more and more people are exposed to it, they won't see anything different than another guy with a smooth melon !!
I've read some great posts and stories, information and experience, exactly what I need to keep going and really rock the bald look. I appreciate all the time and experience you guys (and gals) put into support and encouragement, learning and growing; definitely a place I will feel right at home in.
Thanks for all your contributions, ideas and suggestions, I will be a frequent visitor because I believe we never stop learning and it's nice to have a 'home' where others can and do embrace the love of the bald head and it's care and upkeep.
Humby yours,
-gary-

You hit the nail on the bald head about co-worker who did not see much change from buzzed hair to razor smooth simply because everyone was used to seeing you with "less" hair and adjusted. Way to go Gary ! Welcome to bald and thanks for taking with your posts !

Thanks stasiu and BOXMAN,
It's funny, during driving rain today I asked my co-worker if she had a spare umbrella. She said she thought she did.
"Good," I replied. "You see all this rain makes my hair go all frizzy..."
She almost fell over laughing. I guess one thing I have been blessed with is a good sense of humor and an ability to "disarm" people.
Laughter is a great medicine and salve of awkward moments. Thanks to all of YOU who have blessed me with welcomes and positive comments. Tomorrow is day #7 shaved!

I have noticed that some people think you'll be sensitive to being bald...though as we sly guys know, that feeling vanishes as soon as you've shaved for the first time....and when you crack a joke, it relives that feeling for THEM lol

Welcome
Congrats on becoming sly. I'm almost 30 days in and I'm still loving it.
Going through 'the sly change' i no longer have a numb feeling when I shave and I don't have a tan line now.
I can't even remember what I looked like with hair either.
Very comfortable with the look and feel. The 30 days is the best advice anyone can take if they are thinking of going sly.
