First week bald
« on: July 21, 2013, 07:05:19 AM »
Hi everyone. Newbie here

So having had my hair cropped short for the unusually high uk temperatures last week, I was sitting one evening a week ago and thought. I wonder what it would be like completely shaved?

Well I went into the bathroom and thought Lets do it. What have I got to lose?

Wow. I'll say that again WOW. Why have I not done this before? It feels amazing. That fresh just shaved slightly numb feeling. I could not stop feeling my head. Doing it now as I write.

I shaved it again later in the week and again today. I love it. Btw I use a DE razor as that's what I use on my face and I'm comfortable with it.

At work I just had the most amazing compliments. Everyone thought it was a great look. Even the checkout girl in the local supermarket took a double look and then said oh wow that looks great.

I am so pleased I gave it a go.

Found this site and have already learnt that witch hazel is a good thing to have around so I'm off to get some tomorrow.

So far brilliant. I'll post again how things are going.

Hey, Gadgetwizard.

Congratulations on going smooth.

You are not the first to ask why you did not do it before. A lot of us have posted that same thing.

Welcome.

Changed my profile to include a pic so everyone can now see my newly shaved noggin.

What is witch hazel used for?

It's an astringent used on the skin....In short, it's an alcohol-free alternative to aftershave; it cools the pores without the burning sensation that you get using alcohol and/or aftershave. You can find it in most drugstores and WalMart. Pretty much you would use it like you would any aftershave.

Hi, here is a picture of me just before going bald. Not a very good photo but it does show my 'boy band' stage.

From another BBC grey haired guy, isn't it great not to see that grey hair in the mirror? I think we look younger!

Do you know i hadn't even considered the whole grey hair issue, someone said bald makes me look younger but strangely i did not connect that to grey hair.

I love this..it just gets better and better.
