A very long introduction
« on: July 15, 2013, 01:31:21 PM »
Hello!
So, i will introduce myself and how I got here, it will be long and possibly boring.
I am 21 years old, I live in Hungary, so sorry for my English. I go to university in Budapest and my family lives in a village in the country's eastern region.
I had about 5 cm hair, sometime I let it grow longer. I loved my brown hair, but my hairline started reducing, my hair at the top get thicker and thicker. It wasn't very bad yet, my friend didn't noticed it, so I could have lived with hair for a few more years without others even noticing it.
While they didn't noticed it yet, I knew the situation and it annoyed me. I had to carefully plan washing my hair at the perfect time, and I had to constantly gear my hair, so my hair problem wouldn't be seen, and I hated wind and everything that could mess with my hair.
My father started balding at his 20's, and I was on the way too. I went through the 5 stages of loss and grief, but I finally came to acceptance. A few weeks ago I started to think about going bald completely, so nobody could see me ever balding and I could be free of the constant worrying about my hair. I searched about it in the internet, and I found this forum back then. You guys helped me a lot in the decision of joining the community, I shaved my head last week at Tuesday.
I came home Tuesday after a long time of being in Budapest, I finished my exams and spent some quality time in the capital city before I got home. I came home with my final decision of shaving my head now, and in the evening I did it. First, I buzzed the horseshoe part of my head, leaving only the top hair long, and walked to my mother and brother to ask them how they like it (obviously it was for joke, I didn't planned leaving it), they were stunned. They thought I went mad, and not because of the hairstyle, but because of me shaving my head.
So, I finished the job, buzzed all of my head and shaved it. It was a little weird at first, but I've got used to the look in the same day I shaved first, and I think it looks good on me.
My family knew why I shaved my head, but my friends don't and they could not understand why (I did not told them I started balding), but I think they welcomed it well and they will get used to it (they have to  ;D)
Since Tuesday I always wait the next day because I can shave again. I love being bald! My skin is very new to this, but I know it will get better and this makes even more wonderful. I wouldn't be bald now if it weren't for this forum, so thank you guys!

Congratulations, BlackHammer!

Welcome to the world of Sly!

I agree with you. I love being bald as well. It just feels too good.

That is an excellent story, sir.

Congratulations on joining the sly brotherhood! It's really the most supportive community for men and women with shaved heads. BTW, I've been to Budapest once: it's a very beautiful city with a unique atmosphere.

Welcome to SBG's. Don't apologize for your English. Seems like you can at least write it better than most to whom it is a first language.

welcome. In a very short period of time your friends and family will nicely accept you bald as it is the new you.  Obviously initially they have to say something and then will accept it.
