Newbie from NC
« on: July 17, 2013, 05:49:35 PM »
Hello everyone!  I've been lurking around for a few days, and just got officially registered.  I am not yet sly, but plan to be very shortly!  I have recently taken the step of buzzing my head down to about 1/16" to see how it looks and feels.  I admit that I have been hesitant about going ahead and shaving the grape, but with several people commenting that my hair looks good now and I should go ahead and shave it, I am working on getting the nerve to do so.  My wife isn't against it, but isn't overly enthusiastic either.  I think we're both wondering if I can carry a shaved head well, but we are pleased with the buzz, so it will probably be just fine.
Even though I've not met any of you, I appreciate the information you've posted for all of us to read.  I look forward to being sly soon!

Welcome, from a fellow North Carolinian.

You look bald in the photo.  The difference between your buzz and SLY is so minor, you might as well just do it.  You'll be another 'Wonder why I did not do it sooner?' guy.

The feel of SLY is so much nicer than buzz.

You'll enjoy the shaved head.  You're almost there already. The feel will be the difference, not the look. If you are near Charlotte, let me know.

Welcome.

Welcome.  I call NC home because I lived there from 3rd - 12th grade and then some. Enjoy the forum!

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

Welcome, Triaddad! If that's a buzz, you could have fooled me; I thought that was sly! You do indeed carry it well; thanks for joining and enjoy!

UPDATE...I'm sly!!!
The dear wife told me to go ahead and shave the noggin' sooner than later, since I was going to shave it anyways, so I pulled the trigger about 30 minutes ago.  I love the feel and look.  My wife said she likes it a lot better than the buzz cut I had!
All of you have said I would ask myself why I didn't do it sooner.  You all must be a bunch of phsycics because that's exactly what I'm asking myself.  30 minutes into this, I couldn't be more pleased!

Congratulations! I just completed my 30 days, and can say I love being bald. I am BBC, and love not seeing the grey hair anymore. Good luck with your new look, I have received all positive comments.
Bald by choice, and loving it!
