Hi guys, I found a great tutorial on another shaving site on how to make your own pre-shave oil Ill post the recipe and a link just in case my link gets deleted because its to another forum.
Ingredients;
3 fl. oz skin-safe oil (such as olive, jojoba, grape seed, sweet almond, macadamia, etc.)
1 fl. oz castor oil (this adds slickness)
2 tsp/10 ml. essential oil or skin-safe fragrance oil (optional)

Interesting! Have you tried it?
Don't worry, I don't mind links to other forums as a lot of people find SBG through other forums linking to us. It's always good link to the original source of the content.
yes, I use it regularly. watch what scent you use in the oil.... cinnamon STINGS (and made my head red for an hour or two)
I would think a citrus oil would work well.
All those ingredients have the possibility to get rancid and rather quickly. How much do you make at once or do you keep it well sealed and in a very cool place? Also, doesn't the oil leave a distinct odor? Rather stupidly I tried to achieve the shiny bald look and, regrettably, used extra virgin olive oil....LOOOOONG before lunch people around me were saying that, for no reason, they felt a yen for a Greek salad while I felt the need for running water and soap. Mr. Clean if necessary.
I haven't tried it yet but it seems like baby oil would be an adequate pre-shave oil.
My personal blend is equal parts olive & castor oil. No essential oils. I make about 2.5 ozs at a time... works perfectly!
