My whole maternal family side has problems with thinning hair. It started in college for me, and has just gotten worse. I tried to ignore what was happening, but it got to the point I couldn't anymore.
I started buzzing it, and getting progressively shorter and shorter. Going from a three to a two to a one, etc. Now I decided to give up the ghost and just shave my head.
What brought this on was my dad's cousin had visited and the FIRST thing he said to me was a comment about my thinning hair. I actually was rude to him and confronted him about what bull that was to say. I always thought it was a gentleman's agreement not to say things about a situation you cannot change. I know it, you know it, just let it go.
I have extremely sensitive skin, so I'm not sure I can do it every day, at least not yet. Give it some time to adjust to what is happening.
One good thing about it is my best friend, she supported me about it. I was talking to her about it and she began to say how she thought I could pull it off. I went wed and had a really short buzz, and now finally am going to take the plunge
Wish me luck.
