I have been using Andis T-Outliners, which are electric liners to cut/shave my head. Previous to this I went through a few different electric shavers that didn't give me as close of a shave as I liked. I have used the Mach 3 before that, between that, and sometimes here recently. But I always get bad irritation on the back of my neck and head. I am not sure if it is because I have thick coarse hair or what. I have been told that could be the cause, I also have been told it could be because of the number of blades I used.
I would love to be able to use a razor because it gives such a phenomenal shave. But, the irritation isn't something I can get used to. Any advice on a razor I should use, single blade cartridge, double edge safety, 3/4/5 blade cartridge? Or would my best bet be to stick to my outliners?
I am biased....coming from an electric to a Sensor to a Fusion. Get a Gillette Fusion razor and try it.
Hi AJ: I would definitely not use an electric. The head shaves you get with a real razor doesn't compare. I shave with DE and SE razors and they give me the best shaves compared to any cartridges or disposables. Keep us posted on your road to slyness.
WARHAWK
The razor shouldn't matter as much....but IMO, two keys to an irritation-free headshave are Shave Secret and a shaving brush. Both of these can be found at WalMart.
