I've seen a lot of beard style names, but none that exactly match what you and Smoothsailing have going. I would agree with jdcsky, and call it a split goatee, but you can name it whatever you like. Great to create a new style. Your color looks fine as is, but if you want it darker, go for it. Just so you know, beard hair grows quickly and the roots are very noticeable, so it requires regular maintenance to keep the roots from showing too much, especially if there is a large contrast in the color.
My beard's natural color is almost completely white in the goatee/mustache/sideburn areas, and dark on my cheeks, so I color it all dark. It requires coloring at least weekly, sometimes with a touch-up in between to cover the most noticeable roots.
