MPB and long hair
« on: June 28, 2007, 01:55:51 PM »
Yesterday while making a delivery I saw a 30 something guy with kind of a Dutch Boy hair cut but he had no hair in the front and the top was receeding.  He also had a chin goatee.  He might have looked cool before his hair loss but I wanted to say to him "Give it up and shave the thing....will ya!".  He could have rocked the sly look.

Also while watching TV early this morning, I saw a business program that featured Jon Najarian of www.optionmonster.com  . He also has a brother named Pete and both are quite bald but have ponytails.  I can tell that they really could rock the sly look, if they wanted.  I keep wondering what it holding them back.  They both have goatees that would look great with being sly!

i guess its a big step to shave your head

however after you do it you are alot happier i find...

people look so stupid with skullets, and just holding onto that last piece of hair for aslong as possible with a combover sweep and some hairgel to keep it in place...
and trying to cover up receeding hairlines

they are fooling nobody..

I have seen many balding guys with ponytails and it really strikes me as one of the saddest looks going (and this coming from a former longhair who NEVER thought he'd cut it--at least back in the 70s).  To me the bald ponytail is sadder than a combover.  It's trying to scream out "I'm young, I'm hip", or maybe, "My heyday was the 70s-- how could they have passed by?!?!?!"   It's like refusing to join the adult world; it seems soooo self-deluding , etc etc. ....

I don't know why they don't realize they'd just look "better" --- more mature, more masculine, more in touch with themselves, if they at the very least would buzz it down close, or even shave it all.  It may be "the natural look" , but its just as sad as wearing a toupee' or being a hcfm victim.

At the very minimum, anyone who's got moderate to severe MPB needs to buzz the remaining hair to a #1.  I don't understand people who refuse to do this.  I realize that not everybody wants to shave.  But there are only two good options for those with MPB:

1.  Buzz it
2.  Shave it  O0

What you said.  I can't imagine why anyone would want that look.

I'd say the combover is worse.  The guys with skullets or long hair and a receding hairline aren't trying to cover up anything per se.  They just grow what they have LOL

I've seen more bad combovers in the past week than I have in the past year...maybe it's the heat?
