Holiday baldness...
« on: June 17, 2013, 12:23:59 PM »
I have  noticed during my holiday that a lot more people seem to be going for broke and going bald during the warmer and sunnier weather here in the south west of England (or am I just being more bald aware!)

Interesting point, Adamski. Perhaps you are getting more bald aware. Lost count of the number of sly guys I saw as I was cycling into work this morning.

Fewer bald fellas on my recent trip to sunny Dartmouth.

Hi Mr Jules, I'm mainly seeing them in Places like Exeter and Butlins of course! Quite like the fact there are more bald people in my home town of Torquay. Are we becoming the mainstream?

We sure are - and all round the world.  The leading country must be southern Africa as if you look at TV on the crowds outside Mandela's hospital nearly every man is sly.

About a decade ago it seemed like it was trendy for high-school and college students to shave their heads for the summer. I don't see much of that anymore.  I blame Justin Bieber for making long shaggy haircuts popular again.

I do see a lot of shaved heads on a daily basis, but they mostly belong to MPB guys who shave year-round.  Not a whole lot of BBC guys in these parts anymore.

I'm definitely more aware of the bald guys now that I shave my head. I can spot them in a crowd easily.  And notice whether it's just a short buzz or really shaved bald.

I think I'm the only guy at the office ( campus of about 600 people), who shaves his head, but out in the local community, there are many guys with shaved heads.  I see them every day.

I can understand why a lot of guys shave in the summer.

I went Sly on January 1 thinking that at that time of the year, the exposed section of my head would be the closest in color to the hair-covered sections.  I was right, but even in southern half of Texas, it got COLD.  My head wasn't ready for it.

I ended up buying four ski caps in various colors to wear while at my desk.
