The Bald and the Beautiful
« on: June 28, 2007, 06:26:04 AM »
Here is a great article on MSN with hollywood stars who are bald. For some reason I couldn't find my picture in there. It must have been a server error or something like that.

Awesome Noner!

Welcome back our funny, bald friend.

It's pretty cool that Bruce decided to be sly for the latest Die Hard film. I'm glad they didn't show him with hair so he'd look more like he did in the earlier films.

I was just thinking that a lot of these actors who go sly for roles must have a hard time going back to hair when the gig is over.  A lot of them really seem to enjoy their slyness.  Example:  Michael Rosenbaum.  By the time he's through with Smallville next year, he'll have been sly for seven years (at least when the show's not on hiatus).  In interviews, he's always seemed to be really enthusiastic about being bald.  He'll have to grow his hair back when he's done with the series, as it would limit his roles too much if he did not.  Plus he'll probably want to distance himself a bit from the role of Lex to avoid typecasting.  But can you imagine how hard it would be to give up your slyness after all that time?  The sacrifices that are made for art ...  :-\

No, I'd just have to be one of the exceptions like Bruce -- stay sly and then grow back the fringe and wear a piece when a role demanded it -- then return to sly when the project was over.

Some of us are "stuck" with slyness (not that it is a bad thing!)  8)

Great to see you back Noner, that was a great lineup.  Razor's comment about Rosenbaum made me realize that there were BBC guys on that list though :'(

Interesting how so many of these guys, who are normally totally slick, are sporting some stubble or showing some shadow.  Daughtry, Diesel, Moby, Stipe, for example.  Michael Chiklis is nice and smooth but that is one horrible photo of him.

razorx....gr8 observation on the stubbled domes.  if i was a celebrity...i wouldn't have NO stubble... it would b slick and smooth 24/7 and i would have someone shave my dome everyday.  hey... wait... i do have someone shave my dome everyday (my wifey).  well... razorx, i guess i'm a celebrity in my own home.  how lucky can one guy be!!!  seriously.... though... i'm NOT a celebrity but there is NO way that i will have stubble on my dome 4 the paparazzi 2 C.

Ever notice how on The Shield, Michael Chiklis has got a good bit of stubble but in real life he is shaved clean?  I have some of the DVDs and in the special features on one of them, they are clipper shaving or electric shaving him to get ready for a day's shooting.  So they've deliberately opted not to have him completely smooth.  I wonder why.
