Summer is the season for Bald Men
« on: May 29, 2013, 06:17:38 AM »
So warm weather has finally made its way to Boston––I'm retired my winter boots, thick pants, jackets, windbreakers....and those damn winter hats.

Honestly, if anything bothered me about being bald this winter, it was having to wear hats ALL THE TIME.

Maybe I'll move to Florida someday, but for now, I'm rocking the shorts, boat shoes, and scalp with some sunscreen.

Anyone else enjoying summer or enjoy it more than other seasons?

I too enjoy summer, the hot sticky weather in Louisiana notwithstanding........Longer days make for more time to accomplish things, bald or not.

I am sporting my shorts and flip flops for sure in FL. It is already in the high 80's continuously so sunscreen is a daily thing on the dome!

Yep. Four more days of work and then I leave for a five week vacation in California. It'll be 20 - 30 degrees cooler there so I'll miss the hot Hawaiian weather but it'll still be in the upper 60's or better. Itll be nice to get away from the ship for a few weeks.
Hair is over rated.

In Louisiana, we have four seasons.  Hot, sweltering, hot again, and warm.  In our warm season (when the calendar says winter), we get the occasional nights when the temp may drop below freezing, but many days back into the 60's and 70's F.  I remember many Christmas celebrations with the A/C running, and I can remember a few snow storms with up to 4 inches of snow that completely shut down the cities.

Rarely does one need a hat for warmth here unless working outside for long periods of time, so I can show off my dome year round.

When I lived in New England, we spent winters hiding from the cold.

In Austin, it's reversed. We spend summers hiding from the heat, and enjoy the rest of the year which is nicely temperate. The official temperature here yesterday was 106ºF, but my car measured 111ºF on the roads.

Could be worse: Death Valley is supposed to hit 130ºF today.

I'm down IH-35 from TheSlyBear, and my car showed 111ºF in the shade.
Our "official" temperature today was 108ºF - a new record.

When I walked across the UTSA campus this afternoon, I suddenly was very aware that I foolishly was not wearing a hat and had not brought my bandanna.

I still will take this heat over the cold any day.

Just think of us down in Canberra, Australia where it was minus 3 celsius this morning.  But a lovely clear day so no need for a hat.

36C here as I rode the John Deere Tractor and cut the grass this afternoon. Lazy breeze and scattered clouds made it tolerable without a hat. Sun felt good on my bald head. The only thing I do not like about summer is the electric bill.

Here in my neck of the woods we're right around 100* F today, it rained yesterday so there is humidity. We're mostly dry on this side of Washington but after yesterday leaving everything wet, then the heat today, I was suffering and don't see how folks in the southeastern US deal with it. Tomorrow is supposed to be about 104* F here in Northeastern Washington, then back to the 80's which is perfect for my job (dairy/hay)

LOVE summer!  This is my first one bald and so far it's great.  Although the first time I broke a sweat while driving I had to pull over and dig out a bandana cuz the sweat was running freely down into my eyes LOL

Have to enjoy it while I can in Michigan cuz we really barely get 2.5 months of REAL SUMMER and that could change every 15 minutes LOL

Michigan seasons:

Winter
Post-Winter
Summer
Pre-Winter

rinse and repeat..not necessarily in that order LOL
