I have been experimenting with different combinations of shaving cream and razors for the past week or so. I have determined that for now I will stick with the Mach3. I wasn't so sure about the cream though. I had been using Barbasol for the past few years now, but that wasn't quite doing it for my head. I want to be able to go against the grain, and with that cream, I always end up with many cuts all over my head. After quite a bit of research, I decided to try HeadSlick, I am very glad that I did. I just got finished shaving my head with it, and it is probably the best cream I have ever used. I did still get cuts on my head, but they were all on the back of my head. I attribute this to the fact that I already shaved today, and that I do not have a mirror with which I can look at the back of my head while shaving. No cuts on the top of my head whatsoever though. I will be sticking with HeadSlick for the foreseeable future.
Another HeadSlick user here. It's decent when used alone, but it works real well when you mix it with about 4-6 drops of Shave Secret from WalMart and apply it with a shaving brush. You only need a capful of Headslick; I bought a bottle around Thanksgiving 2011 and one bottle lasted me all the way till Easter weekend this year (about 16 months). Once in a while I throw a few drops of Bump Patrol in the shaving lather just for that menthol smell. Anyway, Woody, nice to see you like HeadSlick, hope you get a lot of good shaves out of it like I have!
G'Day Woody mate
Good to hear you have found a product you like.
I am big fan of headslick as well, use it all the time.
It's all trial and error, it's always good to try new products.
Right on.
HeadSlick is probably the one HB product I'm not a fan of, IDK but it never seems to compketely rinse outta my blades or my head. I'm probably the one guy who likes Gillette Foamy Sensitive Skin.
I've recently started using the real shaving co. traditional shaving cream, reading from the bottle "double concentrated, with natural cocoa butter" its certainly improved my shaves
Ditch the canned stuff my Friend.... it is all garbage.
Try some nice quality shave soaps.
Mike's Natural, RazoRock, Cella, and Proraso are some VERY nice soaps.
