Newly sly, but been around for years!

Hello my sly brothers -
I officially went sly about 2 weeks ago. I just got tired of messing with it. I've been losing my hair for 10 years, and I'd rather be sly than the "balding" guy.
So, I went with a #1 and realized it looked terrible on me since my hair loss was patchier than I'd like. Finally just took a razor to it and joined the club.
The wife was there with me when I did it, and her reaction was great. My son's was better though: "Daddy, I like it!" I run a professional services company, so I was very nervous about how that would work, but everyone was very positive. I had some people say I look "tough", "like a bouncer", etc. but a lot of people said I looked younger.
I have a Hollywoodian variant beard going along with it, and I am really liking it so far. It's unique, bold and something that I think helps exemplify confidence, confidence I hadn't had in years. I'm getting some color on the dome, and that's helping a lot.
My challenge now is that some days I like it, some I look in the mirror for a second and don't see myself. I'm assuming that changes over time?
Rambling email, but I'm definitely staying sly and really appreciate this forum for all the great information and support!

Welcome, Chadwick!, Glad to hear that you have done the deed, and the approval of the family is a plus! It's normal to have some reservations when you first go sly, but after awhile, everyone will get used to it and sly will become second nature, Feel free to ask questions if you have any!

Chadwick, you are on the right track.
Yes, it probably takes YOU longer to adjust to your new look than others. You've been seeing yourself with hair or some hair for years, and now you're sporting a very slick dome. I still find myself eyeing myself in the mirror at the department store or shop window and wondering about the bald guy in the reflection. I don't fret over it, but occasionally have to pinch myself ... i'm the bald guy and it looks good on me.
Embrace the sly you.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. So far so good - I'm shaving every day, and to the point now where I like it fully shaved vs. when the stubble starts to show through.
I'm experimenting with beard styles which has kept me occupied.
I've found something a little odd though: When I'm in my more causal style, I like the look. When I throw on the jacket for business, I feel a little bit of a disconnect between the more "cool/bold" look up top and the business clothes. I've had a few Kojak comments as well, but that's fine... I'll wear the new me proudly.
Quick question, and I'm sure this is in a bunch of other threads but I can't seem to find the right answer: What's the best moisturizer to apply after the shave that hopefully reduces shine AND has some sunscreen? I've already bought some Bald Guyz moisturizer. Possible?

Welcome here.
You have lived what many of us have : dissatisfaction with your thinning hair, then shaving your head, finally great look and increase of self confidence.
(I'm sorry but have no answer for the best moisturizer).

I've been sly for six months now, and have skipped shaving only two days.
The week I went sly, my wife announced we had a formal affair to attend. I empathize with the disconnect as I felt it too when I saw myself in a tux with a smooth head.
Now, I only notice if I get a five o'clock shadow up there.
