Can't believe I did it.
« on: May 06, 2013, 05:29:56 PM »
About a week ago I decided to shave my head. It turned out okay then I went to the barber to get it touched up.

At first I really felt cold and hated the feeling. It's been a little over a week now and it's starting to grow back fast. I really like having the short hair, but I feel that it will be a daily thing to keep up with it?

Should I start shaving my head and touch it up every few days?

Welcome! To answer your question, how much and how often you should shave depends on: 1. How much do you like having a shaven head (or short buzzed head), and 2. How does your scalp react after shaving (especially with a razor). It's good that you got a barber involved for the first one if you didn't feel too comfortable doing it yourself. Good luck!

If you just want it short rather than smooth, just get into the tub with a pair of clippers once a week. I did this for decades before going sly.

Welcome. You look great bald. Shaving every other day or every three days should do the trick.

Yes. Considering trying the 30 day trial: 30 days of daily head shaving. See how you get along.

I do mine every morning and find it has become an easy routine.    I mainly did it daily because it seemed to leave less irritation when I shaved if it was just stubble vs longer sprouts.    My only minor complaint is the cost of new blades.

Bald looks very good on you.

welcome.

If you just like it short, you can go weekly.

I personally like it very smooth, which requires a daily shave. Once you get it down, it's only a few minutes. (takes longer at first).  I also find that it I let it go a few days between shaves, it takes longer. Even 2 days, there is more hair to remove.

For consistence, I shave my head daily.  Enjoy the smooth feel each morning.

by the end of a week, you'll look like a #1 buzz cut.  Yes, hair grows fast, and it show especially when it is very short.

A shaved head does require maintenance to keep nice and smooth. Daily or every other day for sure depending on the regrowth. Follow the recommandations in the grooming section, as you could easily get some scap irritation from shaving since your skin is not used to it. I'd say: go for it for 30 days and decide if you like it or not. Good luck!

As others have already said, go for the 30 day trial. Shave every day, unless you get irritation, in which case do it every other day. If you wait a whole week, you'll have to use clippers first to get most of the hair off, then the razor to get it smooth.
For a lot of people, it takes a while to figure out what they like best. If you like the short hair, by all means go for it and just clip once or twice a week. Being sly isn't about shaving every day whether you want to or not, it's about going with what makes you look best/feel the most confident.  O0
